Korg Arp Odyssey

In the Wake of intense competition with Moog Music, in the late 70s of the XX century, ARP Instruments launched the model, which quickly gained many fans around the world. For its time, Korg Arp Odyssey had excellent qualities, including reliability, ease of operation, small size and affordable price, which especially appealed to novice musicians. For almost 10 years, the synthesizer was successfully sold, gradually improving its performance until 1981, when production was stopped.  The appearance of digital analogues on the market and, as a result, a drop in demand affected, but the popular Korg Arp Odyssey, with a memorable sound, has always remained in the hearts of fans.

Good memory, in part, was one of the reasons for the revival in 2015 of the old model, in the image of the new Korg Arp Odyssey. This became possible after KORG invited David Friend, a leading specialist in the American company ARP Instruments, to cooperate. This creative tandem allowed to reproduce the original scheme and convey a familiar sound to many people, thanks the Korg Arp Odyssey. After the numerous wishes of lovers of the old model, introduced Korg Arp Odyssey become the most accurate version of the legendary instrument and faithfully reproduces the analog path of its predecessor. The creators device, even made an original matte polyurethane case for transporting the synthesizer, for example, in the back of a truck.

A two-voice model from the 70s, had two VCO oscillators on Board and owned a penetrating, bright sound with a rich timbral expansion, thanks to a flexible selection of modulation sources. These include, synchronization of generators and variable pulse width, generator s&H, as well as a non-resonant RF filter and 2 different envelope generators, with their help, the synthesizer made incredible sounds, that then managed repeat the Korg Arp Odyssey model.

With the direct participation of David Friend, the Korg Arp Odyssey, was developed using the best practices of the past years to reproduce a recognizable synthesis at the hardware level. There were originally three models that featured a filter scheme and the Korg Arp Odyssey put the former differences together it controls them with a special adjustment.

The Korg Arp Odyssey instrument combines: a filter with aggressive sound, the second option with excellent low frequencies, and finally the third, where increased stability is maintained, even when using extremely high resonance values. This allowed the Korg Arp Odyssey to sound just as fantastic as before, gently enriching and saturating the audio signal with new harmonics.

Korg Arp Odyssey makes the analog sound stronger by activating the special "drive" option, which will undoubtedly improve its quality and please professionals. The Korg Arp Odyssey turned out to be less than the old model, almost 10%. Available at high-quality keyboard with 37 notes, also of a smaller size. The compact size is an advantage rather than a disadvantage, although not everyone will agree with this. But this is not essential for someone who wants get the Korg Arp Odyssey, achieve an original sound and remember the legendary compositions of famous musical groups.

Convenient interface on the back of the Korg Arp Odyssey, has a standard MIDI input, a USB Jack for transmitting and receiving information, a pedal Jack, monophonic audio outputs, audio input, and other required connectors. Although the Korg Arp Odyssey does not have all the modern features, it is sure to attract the attention of a large number of users.
